The Forbidden City

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Beijing is the forbidden city. I was amazed at the beautiful structures that made up the city. While it was very impressive, it was so crowded. It was a bit hard to enjoy all of it while waiting in line and dodging selfie-sticks for each spectacular spot (but hey, that's what happens when your travel on a holiday).

I went on a truly spectacular day. The air was clean, it was warm and bright. Making it a perfect day for touring, but not so perfect for pictures.

I love the mix of old and new.

I love old palace walls with modern skylines in the background.

There's a park across the street from the exit. If you go to the pagoda at the very top of the hill, there is a beautiful outlook of the whole forbidden city. If you have time, it's definitly worth the hike up.

It's been awhile since I've posted about my trip to Beijing. Check out my other posts here.

Old Asian architecture is one of my favorite styles. They're always so colorful and filled with so much character~
