While in Tokyo, I took a day trip to Hakone. I had planned to see the Hakone shrine, ride the ropeway up the mountains, and hoped to catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji.
I did not plan for snow. I haven't seen this much snow since I left home years ago. I was delighted with the change, but I was not prepared. I did not have enough layers with me. Half my photos came out blurry either from my shivering or because my lens fogged up. Luckily, I take a lot of pictures so I was bound to have a few good ones.
Hakone is a beautiful area. When in Tokyo, it's easy to purchase a Hakone day pass. The pass allows you to travel all around Hakone then back to Tokyo for one flat rate. Even though I didn't get to see Mt. Fuji and I felt like a popsicle, I'm so glad I went.
