Hakone

While in Tokyo, I took a day trip to Hakone. I had planned to see the Hakone shrine, ride the ropeway up the mountains, and hoped to catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji.

I did not plan for snow. I haven't seen this much snow since I left home years ago. I was delighted with the change, but I was not prepared. I did not have enough layers with me. Half my photos came out blurry either from my shivering or because my lens fogged up. Luckily, I take a lot of pictures so I was bound to have a few good ones.

Hakone is a beautiful area. When in Tokyo, it's easy to purchase a Hakone day pass. The pass allows you to travel all around Hakone then back to Tokyo for one flat rate. Even though I didn't get to see Mt. Fuji and I felt like a popsicle, I'm so glad I went.

Beautiful set! Weather like this makes for amazing photos, but you're right - really tough to shoot in. Some really well composed images here!

Thank you!smile Hakone is such a beautiful place that even after freezing my butt off in a snowstorm I would go back tomorrow if I could.

Alexis these images are very worthy of praise. The way you captured the starkness contrasted with the "red pop" makes these image blue ribbon! Now go warm up!

Thank you! After a big bowl of ramen, I was warm again in no time. I was honestly surprised by how good the originals came out (I have edited these a bit, but not very much; some cropping, resolution adjustments, and slight color correction). Hakone is just that beautiful! smile
