Meiji Jingu's forest of serenity

One of our highlights in Tokyo is the visit to Meiji Jingu, the spacious shrine ground that consist of a vast ground of forest & shrines. The shrine was dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken in 1920. The approximately 100,000 trees is a welcoming sight and particularly pretty in summer.

Entry into the shrine grounds is marked by a massive Torii gate

Summer is a great time to visit the forest but it would be majestically prettier in the winter

Located just beside the JR Yamanote Line's busy Harajuku Station, Meiji Shrine and the adjacent Yoyogi Park. Enjoy !

Nice photo tour of this magnificent "oasis" in the center of all the "hub-bub"!!!
I hope to go to Japan someday, before I can no longer travel....
I love the art & culture of those clever people...
Cheers!
