The Peruvian Apple Cactus produces flower buds only once a year & only for a very brief period of time. The buds grow to full size in a matter of days and die off within a week. Some never even flower.

Only under the right combination of sunlight and water will these buds become flowers at nightfall. And if they do manage to blossom, the flowers only last for one night!

Why? Because nature is poetry...
