Alcazar Show

Alcazar show will be included in the itinerary of all tourists to Thailand. Such is the reputation of this transvestite cabaret show in Pattaya . Everyday shows are scheduled at 17:00, 18:30, 20:00, and 21:30. I got ticket for 18:30 show and roamed in nearby Central Marina mall till 6.

It is a 70 minute show and after the end of previous show, artists will come out for 10 minutes before the start of next show. Visitors can pay and take photographs or selfies with them. After few clicks, went inside the theatre.

Sat in upper gallery with my camera ready for the show and was shocked to hear the instructions "Photography is prohibited and viewers are requested not to use flash " ! Kept my camera inside and thought this may be yet another secret show like the Fantasea show in Phuket, where even mobile phones were not allowed inside.

But as soon as the show started, everyone took out their mobile phones and started recording and flashing pictures. I was in a dilemma for a while whether to shoot or not. Observed that staffs doesn't stop anyone from taking pictures or recording but requests not to use flash when someone does. Then took the camera out and started clicking occasionally .

Basically the shows consists of 17 performances. Apart from native Thailand specific performances they do perform for Chinese, Indian, Persian,Vietnam, Russian songs as well. Guess, its a strategy to impress the visitors since most of the tourists to Thailand are from china,India,Iran,Russia.

There was one notable performance under spotlight in which an artist dressed as half man and half woman performed a duet by quickly changing the face side under spotlight.

I couldn't recollect the performance names or order, thus couldn't give the performance names as caption for the photos. Just uploading few clicks to give an overview and to document the experience.

Overall its an impressive show justifying its reputation.Be it Lighting, costumes, make up ,quickly changing the set after one song without delay,.. everything is of highest standard. I would recommend to book ticket in upper gallery.

Its up to you take photos or not but if you do,please don't use flash since mobile flash will distract the light ambiance and performing artists .

After the show, the artists came out to pose for few minutes.

Hope this post gives an overview about the Alcazar show.
