Mevagissey was today's first location on my cornish getaway. A lovely seaside town fillled with history dating back to the bronze age! The name comes from the Irish saints 'Mevan' and his recruit saint 'Issey' during the sixth century.
The town is most famous for fishing in this current day and age but in the 1700s it was renowned for war and smuggling!
There are over 23 species of fish targeted on the coast surrounding Mevagissey as well as crustaceans and lobster.
If you'd like to see more on the history of this quaint little town you can do so by mevagissey.co.uk/history.
