This one was worth the incredibly long wait!

An installation created by ASIR Studio [asirarch.net] for the Bright-Light [bright-light.ca] festival in the DTES…this is just beautiful.

The lanterns were created with umbrellas (you can actually buy a brolly and I have one…it's super lovely!) and hung over Yue Shan Courtyard at 39 East Pender St.

This was only open during the day on Chinese New Year, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a lion dance. The crowd trying to elbow their way into this tiny courtyard through the narrow passage ways was just unreal.

For the rest of the festival, the courtyard will be open in the evenings and the lanterns will be on from 6-10pm. So if you live in Vancouver, make your way down there - this is an absolute gem!

Guess where I'll be for a few evenings in the upcoming weeks:)
