Tunxi, Anhui Province

This was without a doubt the most loved area of my trip…absolutely gorgeous.

The food at one restaurant was so good that I ate all my meals there. Everything was made from scratch and each meal including drinks came to about $3 CDN. Seriously. Life doesn't get much better than this. The pumpkin/garlic/cilantro dumplings were so delicious that I wanted to eat them all the time…but there were so many more delicious items to sample!

The old town of Tunxi is just beautiful with cobble stone streets, local crafts, and stray dogs meandering about. Best thing was that no one harassed you to buy stuff, unlike the rest of my experience in China. And the people were just super friendly:)

I am truly and deeply in love with this place and I hope to return for a longer stay in the future. Plus Huangshan is so incredibly stunning that it certainly is worth a repeat trip!

Watching the rice paddies zip by after a few hours of snoozing…

My pedicab ride from the train station to Old Town Tunxi.

Fishing along the Xinanjiang River

Ooohh…balloons! Love balloons:)

That was the traffic light in one of the busiest intersections that I have ever seen. It took me a few minutes before I figured out how I was going to cross the street when traffic was going in all directions. The trick, wait for a slight break and then make a mad dash for it!
