A book burrows into your life in a very profound way because the experience of reading is not passive.“ Erica Jong

”Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.“ Sir Richard Steele

”Read, every day, something no one else is reading. Think, every day, something no one else is thinking. Do, every day, something no one else would be silly enough to do. It is bad for the mind to be always part of unanimity.“ Christopher Morley

The books that help you most are those which make you think the most. The hardest way of learning is that of easy reading; but a great book that comes from a great thinker is a ship of thought, deep freighted with truth and beauty.” Theodore Parker

I'm sure we would not have had men on the Moon if it had not been for Wells and Verne and the people who write about this and made people think about it. I'm rather proud of the fact that I know several astronauts who became astronauts through reading my books." Arthur C. Clarke

The first photo, that's a perfect scenario for me.
As G.K. Ward puts it, reading is the equivalent of ten [or a whole lot more] lifetimes of experiences.
It's also a pleasure looking at your photos!
