A Reflection of Self

Borrowed Self
by Samuel Dickinson

Names grant things identity
We lack the ability to determine this for ourselves
And so others assign it
For us to blissfully pour our ignorance
Into their molds

Your post reminded me of the Allegory of the Cave by Plato (Plato's Cave):
"a group of people who have lived chained to the wall of a cave all of their lives, facing a blank wall. The people watch shadows projected on the wall by things passing in front of a fire behind them, and begin to ascribe forms to these shadows."

which presents his belief that the world that our senses reveal is not the real one but only a poor copy of it and the real world can only be comprehended intellectually. Maybe the same applies to the reflection of self.

Muitos não suportam momentos de solidão, pois é precisamente aí que começa o questionamento, o ouvir para dentro de nós.
      Boas imagens.

Fantastic! And while we are at it, how about a big shout out for the people that work very hard keeping those floors clean and shiny for so very little?
