Impressionnant bâtiment. La 3 avec les enfants lui donne un peu de légèreté... Belle édition Antonio

great pictures of the BD... colorful, lifely, intense :-)

...and i hate to write it because it just adds to my anyway rotten reputation as the big naysayer and provocateur on PB, but it is one of the ugliest buildings in berlin, maybe only beaten by ridiculous pergamon museum. i'm glad you put it up in 3 of 5 shots in comparison with other interesting objects in its vicinity - makes the comparison to the massive bulk of its presence on the spreeinsel the more visible.

in fact, despite the 500 years of history a "dom" project has there, the final building is a neo-baroque abomination from 1905, and i hardly know any architecture of that time that wouldn't be worth taking down to rubble and built something new.

i'm with heinrich mann here, who once said somewhere in his novels about that time, that the buildings the kaiserreich gave itself did exactly express the pompous nature of germanys blown up nationalist self esteem, while being hollow inside. ;-)
