A Lunch Break in Englewood
By JToddUnderhill
The delivery trucks roll on by
The sky holds a springtime haze
Lunch time proceeds to fly
As it does on most of the days
Smoking down my lunch drag by drag
While soaking in a ray or two
wishing that time would somehow lag
A sense of melancholy runs me through
Not wanting to finish my work time
Penning my thoughts down to page
Embracing my poetics id not a crime
As it has been at whatever my age
But alas lunch draws to a close
And this working man has got to provide
And though it pains me like no one knows
I must return once again inside
