MY NORWAY TRIP DIARY: 5th DAY - GRAFFITI - STAVANGER

Graffiti

I stopped one day, up by th'canal
and watched a lad, there with his pal.
tarpaulin on the floor of white
with spraypaint of colours all very bright.

Michaelanglos Novices, would have been proud
as they took to the wall, as a canvas aloud
producing a picture, on a canalside wall
with humour and colour, to be enjoyed by all

Now, this picture was not a lazy drawn tag,
you could tell by the paper and colours in their bag
and if people had seen the wall at the start,
you would have considered the young man's “Graffiti” as art.

Abandoned warehouse, no longer used
is now bursting wi' colour, from artwork infused
and people walk down the canal wi' a smile
hoping the artwork, stays round for a while.

i love this and it is a great find. it does look very Banksy as someone else mentioned. the poem is so true in regards to graffiti. very cool.

Poésie mélancolique, heureuse, romantique et un brin nostalgique parcourt ces murs. Plaisante pour le regard, désolante pour le coeur...
Bravo et merci

I am reading Jo Nesbo at the moment, so all your pictures of your Norway trip are adding to my enjoyment of his novel. I am always fascinated by graffiti. As PC McGarry says, very Banksy.
