a poem by John Faulkner
I will forever remember and cherish
my first glance upon you.
Resting upon your shoulders
was a dualistic, exotic face
comprised of two eyes
tearfully in search of yours
now beaming with hope,
one moistened with enticement
passionately awaiting the sensation of it
upon my assenting half.
No man other than me
will ever be capable of loving you
even a miniscule lesser than I have been anointed
by the intention of God Himself.
I have been granted
by the blessedness of a higher power,
to be enthroned by you as my eternal subsistence.
I have been humbled, my love
by your insatiable affection of me,
I have been christened worthy of you;
and all which it bequeaths me;
