The Lake Isle of Innisfree

a poem by WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS

I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,

And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made;

Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee,

And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,

Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;

There midnight’s all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,

And evening full of the linnet’s wings.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day

I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;

While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,

I hear it in the deep heart’s core.

Wonderful series....perfect romantic poem to accompany......Glad the "donkeyboy" walked, on the way back, since I'm sure the water filled buckets were load enough, for his diminutive "steed".... This series vaguely reminds me of Don Quixote & Sancho Panza.........

The water is fresher than the one who comes out of our taps. It was the water we've used to make tea, to wash ourselves and so on. I so loved this place. Thanks dear Mx

Eu quis fazer, aqui, uma espécie de narrativa contínua e acho que não ficou mal de todo. Obrigado Rogério. Grande som do Lou Reed. :-)

It's my favorite too. He was enjoying the sun on his face and he stretched his arms as if receiving all the energy of the heat, as it was rather cold up there. Thanks Helen
