Stuck

a poem by Olivia Frederick

Stuck

In the soft mud, exasperated
Expecting escape but never fighting

From the forest came chaos,
But I don't venture there
For fear of

Self-discovery:
Some secret stolen from me --
Or was it given?

Loneliness:
The danger that I'm convinced
Is real.

Losing myself:
They'd never find me,
But could I?

So here I remain,
In the dull, comfortable mud
Assuring myself that I am

Stuck.

Everything was still and lifeless in this barren place.

Love the mono treatment to emphasize these cold, stark, lifeless images.........good time to hibernate.......
Always love to hear Norah Jones......

Thanks Jay. That's why I chose B&W in the first place. I think the bears here are still hibernating smile

Always a pleasure, Amigo!
Glad to hear that the bears are still sleeping when you're out & about in their territory! It's a consideration where I live, as well, except with our mild winters, I don't think the bears around here hibernate as long, if at all.....I know the cougars are active, around here,  year round~ (((gulp)))

They live well into those mountains, so no safety problems, bear wise at least. smile

That's good to know! Recently a man in Florida was attacked by a bear, just outside his home!

Perfect - a car series!
#1 - very disturbing! White, grey and a truck, sitting in the untouched snow like a nesting duck.
What grew in this backyard? Ist this dry plant a gigantic poisonous hemlock (Conium maculatum)?

Cars are one of my favourite themes to photograph.  It could well be, I do not know nothing about plants, sorry smile
