♫♫ Narilatha sri lankan folk song ♫♫

Hinduism has a long tradition and is the oldest religion in Sri Lanka. Hindus currently make up 12.60% of the Sri Lankan population, and are almost exclusively Tamils apart from small immigrant communities from India and Pakistan such as the Sindhis, Telugus and Malayalees. Due to emigration (over 1 million Sri Lankan Tamils have left the country since independence), today they are still a sizeable minority. Hinduism is dominant in the North and Eastern provinces, where there are predominantly Tamil people. Hinduism is also practised in the central regions (where there are significant numbers of people of Indian Tamil descent) as well as in the capital, Colombo. According to the government census of 2011, there are 2,554,606 Hindus in Sri Lanka constituting 12.6% of the country's population. During the Sri Lankan Civil War, many Tamils fled to other countries

The shadows from the tree in #3 have a really nice effect! Love the bold colors too.

AH !!!
Sorry pal. That one is your temple!!!
Pre and post restyling.  (There's also a yellow version if you scroll the images on the left)
I saw that many people wrote the name of a blu-ish temple close to it... I have no idea about the name (I was surprised too that Google had the same images for 2 different places), but THAT one in the link, is your temple, with your tree, and that "cage" (Main entrance) with the weird creature on top.
Now that you have the pictures, and the correct address, you can check the name by yourself! smile

BTW, we both live in Countries full of churches... How many St. Marys are there in Lisbon? Maybe the temples can have the same name too...
They have the same structure, they are basically the same building in 2 different versions... Maybe the blue one is the Kovil 2.0 smile

There are two of them in the same scroll of pictures. They have mixed the two together perhaps because they are very close to each other, they are both Hindu temples, and as you say, perhaps they have the same name. One was only some meters away from the other. Thanks for your efforts dear.

I know... I did what you did... I followed Sea street on Google maps with steet view! They are close, and on the same side of the street! smile
I like this temple more than the other one. And yout pictures are so clean, and the contrast is so pure... I really like it! And I don't even like yellow! But you did such an amazing job, I'm enjoying this set very much!

Naaah... I don't care to be right ...
(SURE I DO!!! joy  I'm a woman, after all.
So, this is the Little Temple of Mother Kali, and the blue one is the Sri Sithi Vinayagar Temple (That I will call VINEGARD, otherwise I'll never remember it!)

See??? WE FOUND IT!
We're a great team!
Now you can sleep at night again

Now I have to go... I'm rebuilding Gatsby's habitat and I have a piece that doesn't fit. I have ZERO idea why, but it's too large! 1.5cm too large. I'm looking around like an idiot, hoping the answer will appear.
Maybe Mother Kali will be so kind to light my path!
Ciao Teresa!!!

Interesting that there is absolutely no reference to this "YELLOW" temple anywhere on line ( I looked). You would think with such a bright color somewhere, someone would write about it. I really like your capture in #3, the shadows enhance the building.

Exactly what I thought. Perhaps it is a new temple (it sure looked like one). Thanks dear Camellia
