♫♫ Gem River Edge ♫♫

Stop the time and relax...Your unforgettable journey begins here...

Smooth your body and spirit by taking a bath in this holy river.
Allow the smells and colors of the natural surroundings to awaken your senses.

Enjoy a responsible Safari in Yala National Park and experience an amazing sunset over the lake.

Participate in the daily rituals "pooja" in one of the most importante multi-religious holy sites in the world.

Enjoy a meal combining the unique blend of Sri Lankan spices with age old cooking methods.

Relax under the stars among the magnificent natural beauty and silence of the edge of the jungle.

We are situated in Kataragama, which is a small town located 238 km South East of Colombo.

Kataragama is surrounded by the sacred gem river and beautiful lakes, the jungle at the border

of the Yala National Park. It is one of the most visited, sacred multi-religious pilgrimage sites

for Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Vedda communities of Sri Lanka, and devotees from

all over the world come here to honor their faith.

Antonio- these images have so much to visually digest! Color, detail, content bursting on our optic screen. I will have to gaze at these again on my high resolution desk top screens to fully appreciate your work. I personally get claustrophobic within organic canopies- your images allow us to travel openly into areas never dreamed of (and Ive been to 70 countries around the world). Thank you for these images.

I do not even try to approach your travel experiences Bruce. I would love to see pictures from all those countries. Even though they are old and in film. smile Thank you kindly for your motivating words my friend. Japan will be next one after Sri Lanka.

I looks like a lovely location I love the scenery of #1.#5 must be the Sunday Mosquito Net because it looks a tad bit holey.

That's not a hole, it's the key in the door lock smile Actually this was my room, and before going to bed we found a very big bug on my wife's pillow and spent some time trying to chase him out of the bed 🦟🕷🐜

Nice location. But what is it in #3, this strange skincolored thing, that is hanging behind the table and the seats... ?

That thing is a part of a tree without bark. Like a sculpture made by nature. Thanks my friend

Wonderful! # 3 reminds me of the enchanted and flourishing villages that come from the pen of Hayao Miyazaki! 😯

A sacred place
this hidden space
divinity embraced.

A child's face
one human race
playing under Gracegreen heart

This post reminds me of Jungle Book. I could live there in a heartbeat. Very nice series this, good work.

It was a rather welcoming place. Mowgli (the boy) , was the son of the owners. The father was from Sri Lanka and the mother was Portuguese. And sometimes the river was visited by crocodiles. Not often though. 😀🐊
