SRI LANKA TRAVELOGUE – DAY 10 – WHALE WATCHING (WITHOUT WHALES)

by Antonio Gil December. 02, 2019 197 views

The sea was very rough, the wind was blowing hard, the rain kept falling and we only saw two big whales very far away. The boat was rocking all over the place and it was extremely difficult to stand up let alone to take pictures. And some of the participants were puking their guts out. So, it was almost impossible to show you the "real thing".

This poor guy suffered so much. He was puking his guts out as soon as we left the harbour

I love the ocean and my spirit yearns to be near and on it! Great series Antonio. I can also relate to the "pukers" though I have no problems personally with sea sickness. I once crossed the Straits of Gibraltar on a small craft full of Moroccan sailors who puked the whole way there! Navy mind you! LOL!

Even though the whale watching was disappointing, at least you got see some great examples of motion sickness, up close & personal.....smile smilesmile
There is nothing worse than being sea sick.......urp.....
I've been a victim of it more times than I'd like to remember......
Being back on terra firma is the only cure.....

Great series. Even though the seas were rough I am sure that the memory of the day will last forever and it did make the sighting or possible sighting even a bit more sweet.

You are very kind Bill. The pictures were taken with a hand on a rail and a hand on the camera smile

You guys really had it rough looks like. I am not sure how I would have handled it. Good possibility that I would be sitting next to that guy and commiserating.

I like all the images in this post, including those of the stormy clouds and rain. Your captions and narrative made me laugh. Sorry, I know I'm not supposed to derive joy from people's misery, but I just got a certain picture in my head of what was happening on the boat. 😁

Well the giants are actually tiny in the ocean. Looked like its was a bit rougjh, the weather. Had that one time when we went fishing for swordfish. Nice and sunny, and 15min later half a hurricane.

It wasn't sunlight. It was the beacon of the lighthouse. smile Thanks dear Amy
