COSTA RICA TRAVELOGUE – DAY 10 – MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST

by Antonio Gil August. 18, 2021 325 views

The mountain where you can touch the clouds!

Established in 1972 by a coalition of scientist from the Tropical Science Center (TSC) and Quakers from the local community to protect one of the last tracts of pristine Cloud Forest in Central America, the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Preserve is a pioneer and progressive conservation and ecotourism model based in biodiversity research and education.

Our preserve offers a unique opportunity to nurture your connection with the natural world. For nearly 50 years we have been fiercely protecting one of the most endangered ecosystems on earth. Note that only 1% of all remaining forests on the planet are classified as cloud forests.

#1 Lots to choose from!
#2 I'll bet that trail was crawling with tons of bizarre insects and other exotic creatures!
#3 Makes me wonder how the first explorers found their ways in & out of such dense forests!
#4 Walking thru the clouds....no???
#5 Did the plant life try to start growing on U2???
#6 I'll bet there were spiders, with webs set up, all over the place!! (I shudder to think)
#7 Did you spend the night in there??? I wouldn't sleep a wink!
#8 I'll bet there were all kinds of birds calling out in there!
#9 were you with a group or on your own????
Did U have to cover yourselves with bug repellent???
Wonderful tour! What an adventure!
Thanks for sharing, Amigos!

#1 we did a mix of two trails I think. #4 - the atmosphere inside this forest was an unforgettable experience. #5 - Almost 😊. #9 - we were on our own together with the people we were travelling since the beginning - a group of 10 amazing people. The bug repellent was not necessary - no mosquitoes at all.
Thanks for such insightful comment dear friend
