Caring or repulsive?

Caring or repulsive?

It all depends on how one looks at it. Not all forms of carers and nurturers come in soothing attires. Sometimes it needs to be fierce in order to protect.

"Careful of those thorns”, is what we all have heard atleast once in our lives. Surely most of us view thorns on a plant as dangerous or harmful. Yes ofcourse, because it would hurt us if we were to touch it. But one can’t ignore that the thorns protect the plant from damage. In my eyes, the thorns demand respect, as they stand out strong, protecting the plant with all their might. A rather viscous looking protector, but nevertheless a protector!

We often tend to term anything less suited to us as being unwanted or less worthy. But I feel that nature has created many such strong carers, who might look repulsive, but do the job valiantly well.

Yes, we all adore roses, but here’s my hats off to its’ thorns!

Well written narrative. It reminds me of some of the vegetation I have seen in Africa with long, sharp, hard, nasty thorns.

Thanks a lot. Yes indeed, it is amazing to see the natural defences of nature. Proves to us what a great masterpiece the universe already is!
