Janela is probably the word gifted by Portuguese to us Keralites, the state lying at the southernmost tip of India. In our language we call it 'Janala' :)

Nice capture...but more interesting is the word janela.
Know what, maybe the Tamil language and Malay language word 'jendela' which also means window originated from 'Portugis' word. These three peoples have been interacting with each other since the early 1400.
