From Blossoms to Fruit (Cherries) Part 2

by Art Bee June. 29, 2009 5753 views

My cherry tree is almost ready for picking!

Does anyone have any ideas for keeping the birds away?

The cherries are a bright red colour right now

They will be ready when they turn a deeper colour of red, slightly purple

They are sour to the taste when they are not ripe enough

This is when the birds like to raid the tree, they cause a lot of destruction as well as eating them.

This is my cherry tree! It is about 40 years old. It is approximately Fifty feet high and 25 feet wide. It's a backyard tree, not like the orchards where they are much smaller.
