Shepherds Pie is an old family favourite passed on from one generation to another. It's plain old comfort food and so easy to prepare…..mmmmmgoooodThere are many versions of this dish…..this is mine….with shortcuts….. Start off with frying up a pound of ground beef. Throw in some onion flakes, a little pinch of sage if you like a different flavour use it. Add some worcestershire sauce and a packet of beef bouillon (about 1 tbsp.) if you don't have a gravy going yet…add some more worcestershire sauce ( I love that name)…lolAdd 1/2 can of creamed corn, some frozen peas and carrots and let simmer about 5-7 min. You be the judge on that…. Transfer the mixture into a casserole dish and spread it evenly…. Top it off with some mashed potatoes (leftover or store bought ready made)Spread it out evenly over the meat and vegetable mixture. You could pipe it on if you like fancy and extra work. I just use a fork and make tracks in it…. Sprinkle on some paprika then pop it in a 350 degree F oven for 30 - 35 min. (depends on your oven) It should be brown and bubbly…. There it is!….Easy, affordable and soooo goood!Add a salad on the side and some crusty bread and you have a meal fit for a king….or just a hungry peasant farmer coming in from a cold day of work….
