One Billionth Barrel Monument of Brunei Darussalam

After a meeting with Brunei delegation in Seria and a visit to the BSP-funded project Oil & Gas Discovery Centre, managed to make a brief tour of several interesting places in Seria, the oil town of Brunei.

One of the most interesting place was the One Billionth Barrel Monument to mark the billionth barrel production of Brunei oil. That billionth barrel mark was achieved some years back, in 1991.

Nodding Donkeys… these mechanical donkeys for oil extraction are still nodding and very much part of the landscape in Brunei district of Kuala Belait.

Rough distances to destinations in Brunei from the Sungai Tujoh Immigration & Customs check point at the border of Kuala Belait in the Sultanate with Miri in Sarawak, Malaysia.
