as it rains i feel teardrops in my eyes and the cry is unstoppable

My son lost his best buddy on the night of 19th of May. The friend who passed away at a tender age of 19, was not just my son's best friend as they were also roomates at the university. They were so close to one another so much so almost like brothers.

That 20th May morning, my wife received an sms from my son saying, “Mama, Papa, please recite the verse of Yaasin (from the Holy Quran) for my best friend Khai who passed away last night.”

I just could not believe it! But, I have to after talking on the phone with my son and he was obviously crying all throughout the conversation.

I drove all my family to his campus just to be with him, to console my son, to give him all the moral and emotional support he needs. I knew for sure how he must have felt to lose someone very close and dear to him so unexpectedly.

I remembered that I saw him cried like that only once before. That was when his grand dad, my wife's father, passed away two years ago.

Khai passed away due to hypertension after he was found unconscious by his elder brother at the elder brother's home. He returned home for the weekend, telling my son that he'll be back to the campus on Sunday. A Sunday which was not meant to be…

Al-Fatehah for Khai. May he be kindly received back by his Creator and his soul be placed with those of the prophets.

What a sad experience for someone so young. I'm sure your son appreciates your support, it's hard to see our children hurting. I hope Khai's family and friends will heal with time.

Al-fateha. I guess it was not easy to lose someone as close as your own flesh & blood.
