Jogja Homecoming ~ Happy 8th Birthday JogjaTV

My visit to Yogyakarta was on time with the celebration of JogjaTV's 8th anniversary. It is a local TV with local talents and mostly local issues but can be viewed all over Indonesia and throughout the rims of Asia Pacific on MPEG4 decoder.

I paid a visit to the TV station and met up with friends there. It's news editor-in-chief is a good friend. Here's sharing some pix of a popular news anchor of JogjaTV.

JogjaTV is presenting itself as a keeper of local Yogyakarta culture and tradition. It's tagline is “Tradisi Tiada Henti” meaning more or less there's no end to cultural richness. It also highlights news on local sports and campuses activities.

She's one very popular news anchor at JogjaTV. On the second night of my visit she presented a news on Malaysia ~ how Indonesian housemaids and workers in Malaysia took the opportunity to study English and computer during their weekend off day. Classes are conducted on the second floor of a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. And it's for free.

This is ‘sayur asem’ ~ a simple vege soup with a bit of sour (from a ‘celagi’ fruit), sweet (from a bit of sugar) and salty tastes (from mountain rock salt). It can be eaten just as a soup or with rice. I always buy the ready-packed mix to bring home and cook. .

Ain't she beautiful?
