Travelogue Part 18 - MATMATA

So, here we are, finally!

The more venturesome of our little group ran straight to the top, including the lady in red and her husband who actually got offered 400 camels in exchange of her, and the lady in pink who was over 82 but ran faster than me.

One of the cave dwellings Matmata is so famous for.

The one we visited was a smaller edifice, but more authentic maybe than the big museum we saw from a distance: a family actually still lives there. The approach to this inner courtyard is through a tunnel.

All the rooms open to this secluded courtyard.
Tomorrow, we'll have a closer look inside. Hope you all come back to see more.

Don't tell the potential buyer, but I'd value the lady in red at 350 camels tops. It's a matter of supply exceeding demand.

Another great day of exploration thanks to you my dear friend. I love shot's 3 and 5 especially. I am very attracted to the darkness of the openings in this dwelling, each intensified by the white that surrounds them. Excellent set~I can't wait to go inside!

I'm working my way backward in your posts, now I see where the next interior was shot.... how special that you got to go inside. This is a fascinating place!
