Yes, the popular hibiscus is related to the cotton plant, I learned.

The shriveling flower of the cotton plant looks just like the hibiscus bud.

Another commom feture is that both flowers last no more than a day or two…

Great images and great information! I never knew...

My pet peeve about hibiscus is that the blooms fade so quickly. They are beautiful while they last, though.
