Glimpses From The Tennis Tournament in Memphis

The hand of the lady sitting in front of me …

The ceremony before the men's final…

Getting ready…

Singing the National Anthem…

Here's Andy, again…

….playing against a young Canadan phenom from Bosnia, Milos Raonic…

Remember the line judge who dared to call a foot fault against Serena Williams a couple of years ago? Serena threatened to shove the tennis ball down her throat…among other things. She is still watching those lines and has escaped Serena's wrath, so far…

Here are the prosessional nuts, they have an excuse, though… they make a living out of this…

Huge serves, regularly in the 145 miles per hour range… live it looks very different, TV slows it down somehow…

Acquaintances in the crowd! Some got more pleasure out of watching each other than the game… LOL

Very tight match, and a memorable, diving match point scoring from Andy!

Oops, he caught me taking his picture…

Milos was a little disappointed…

Andy was gracious giving a lot of credit to the young Canadian in his victory speech.

The hand shot has lots of character and subtle details.

I feel as if I were there - you captured it all, Agnes! Lovely candid shots and great commentary on the event. I thought #8 was interesting, since the crowd was looking to their right in the shot, but all the cameras were focused to their left!

I've not been to a pro tennis match but there is one here in Palm Springs and some of our friends are insisting that it's a great time. Seeing your photos makes me think maybe so!

Well, tennis isn't really my thing Agi but these are great photos. I agree with stormfish ^up there^ The hand is awesome.

this blog post could also be a riddle: "bookmark the one picture that doesn't fit into the series!" - no seriously, throw all the tennis nonsense pics away and keep that one of the hand - it's outstanding :-)

great set love the 8th where the spectators are looking in one direction and the cameras pointing in the opposite direction. Did you watch the game or were you too busy taking photos? :)
