An online friend and her son invited me out to Montsalvat [] (an old artist colony in Eltham, the northern outskirts of Melbourne) for the morning. Even though the weather was threatening to spoil the day, it was such a beautiful space and I want to go back there and plan another expedition.

Thanks for a great time, Kellie! :)

Montsalvat, an artists colony (formed in the 1930s) lies north of Melbourne and has some absolutely beautiful architecture and scenery. Most pictures are better enlarged, as the reduced size really takes away from the beauty of the area.

(Me, posing near some of the buildings)

Kellie and her four year-old son, transfixed by ‘painting’ with the soft roots of water plants.

The “Great Hall”.

(More from the Great Hall… I think a wedding here would be wonderful!)

Building containing the Great Hall, from a distance (Montsalvat is set upon 12 acres of land!)
