We had left Ocoee Tennessee and drove through Indian Cherokee to Asheville, North Carolina.
Asheville is the home of Biltmore Castle. Hubby and I love gardens and we wanted to see the magnificent gardens of Biltmore. Unfortunately the line was too long for us so we opted out. However we did something way more exciting....
White water rafting! Yes!..... we finally got to enjoy what we could not do in Ocoee. I have included a couple of photos taken by Blue Herron White Water Rafting. As you can see, our young son Jesse opted to do the course on his own raft. He had the best experience!.... And, yes.... he fell in at one stage, but climbed back into his canoe and continued on. What a hero! :)
We enjoyed a fabulous dinner at a restaurant where our waiter was so excited to see an Aussie family that he had the restaurant play the song.... Land Dowunder. We cringed!.... lol. But because he was excited, we smiled and sang along too... More cringing haha.
But the best thing about staying in Asheville was at the Willows Cabins. We stayed at Mom's Manor, complete with hot tub overlooking the small lake and fountain. But by far the best thing about that was our resident squirrel, Sammy.
Sammy the Squirrel was definitely the highlight of our stay in Asheville :)
