India - Kochi - A Colourful Cultural Experience.

Have you ever gone somewhere that you had no real interest in and discovered that it is actually a pretty cool place? For us that was India.

We had a week between dentist visits in Kuala Lumper. Yes we get out teeth fixed in KL because it is a portion of the price we would be paying in Perth. It so happened that there was a great holiday deal to India. So why not? Let's check it out.

Well Kochi in Kerela in the south/west turned out to be a wonderful destination. There is so much to see and do here and we loved every minute of it. The fascinating fishing nets, colourful Kathkali traditional dance show, white sand beach, inquisitive children, funny tuk tuk drivers, fantastic B&B stay with Saj Home Stay, the wash houses, the spice shops, Vasco da Garma's house, and ....... Special Tea. More about that below :)

Special Tea.

Tip: Don't visit India at election time. During election time alcohol is not served. Hubby and I love to taste the local beer wherever we go and we could not get it anywhere. That is when I discovered Special Tea. Our Tuk Tuk driver Anis took us to this restaurant and told us to ask for is. Lo and behold, we got beer in a mug. Cool :)

Thanks for sharing these lovely shots, of a place we might never have known existed.....
Glad you were able to get your teeth fixed economically & even find some "special tea" to boot!
Cheers!

There's nothing like travel. Very cool photos. I had a similar experience with beer in a Muslim restaurant 🍻

Great set! The fishing nets are fascinating! A friend of mine visited Kolkata last year, and I so enjoyed seeing her photos. India looks like such an interesting and colorful place.

Yes mate.  I have since seen other photos of places in India that also look cool including cruising there as well.  Sounds exciting smile
