Lila's 2nd and 3rd days of life at the UIHC. Waking up to her first sunrise on her second day of life. 3 generations of first-born daughters. I can't wait to introduce Lila to her Great-Grandma Watson to add a 4th generation! Getting a second check-up by the Peds team. Looking like her father… Catching some naptime after very little sleep the night before. Lila's first bath! She wasn't very happy about it, but she was a trooper. All cleaned up and ready to go in the knit-cap the hospital volunteers made. She looks like a Christmas present with a card on top! So sweet and snuggly… Final morning in the hospital–time to get changed and ready to encounter the big, wide world. Someone's not happy here… Cutting her hospital bands…almost time to leave! So alert and ready for the world! As we left the hospital, the world suddenly felt like a bigger and scarier place than before, now that we have someone so precious to protect. Lila's first visitors arrived later that day: our good friend Adele and her family. Adele's sweet three-year-old Ben brought Lila some flowers hand-picked from the park. Uh, oh…already getting flowers from a boy! Craig had better be on the watch! Safe and sound at home. It's a girl!
