2nd half of our visit to Vermont in late May and early June 2015. Eleanor standing up tall now, when holding onto something, in Vermont. She also got her first chance at Adele and Peter's house to really practice going up stairs. Looking back, her attraction to these stairs should have been my first indication of what a climber she was going to become! delicious soft serve at the boys' favorite spot. and yes, this happened! ready to sample some Ben & Jerry's ice cream! I think they approve. pretty simple ingredients. We had to pay our respects at the Flavor Graveyard. stopping for lunch at nearby Stowe, Vermont love these adorable kiddos she loved going up and down this little half-step. Oh, my little climber! After a few lessons from Ben and Noah, Lila learned that the true test of a good swinging session is whether she can kick the branches. We took the ferry boat across Lake Champlain to New York State. Lila still talks about taking the ferry, so I think this was a highlight of the trip for her. Coming from Mississippi, I thought I packed weather appropriate clothes for the forecasted days in the 70s, some long-sleeve shirts, etc. But it was much cooler than expected (such a WELCOME change from our heat and humidity already in May!), so the girls had to borrow some of the boys' sweatshirts. maybe the best picture we got of all 5 kiddos together. standing on New York state soil–I had to send this picture to my mom. First time for both Lila and Eleanor. watching for Ben to be picked up by the school bus (another highlight) Lila milking the cow a 2nd time at Shelbourne Farms so Daddy could see this time. baby goats standing girl! Adele and family surprised Lila with her first birthday cake a few days before her 3rd birthday. putting on our puppet show on our last morning in Vermont before heading to Boston for a few days. This visit did so much to restore our souls with longtime friendship, good scenery, healthy and beautiful lifestyles–all so refreshing after a stressful year or two in Mississippi.
