The streets of San Cris

San Cristobal de Las Casas. An old colonial town, nested in the mountain of Chiapas at 2000m, where the day is hot and dry and the night cold and festives.

It's a nice and easy going town, with a beautiful center, the capital of artisanat of the south of mexico, bringing many tourist to visit and stay here. Cheap accommodation and food, quality product and abundance of artist make it the city of choice of many people that want to go through the winter not spending money.

The revolution that happened in the city in January 1994 brought a strong politic conscientiousness, a lot of movement for the education, the respect of the land and of nature, the equality between men and women and the will to live in another system than the capitalism we are stuck in, and that affect the poor indigenous here first.
