Just west of the Loop, along Chicago Avenue, lies Ukrainian Village. Originally the domain of Eastern Europeans, the neighborhood sustained an influx of Mexicans. A more recent wave of gentrification has brought in the yuppies. For now all three groups live side by side. It probably won't last for long, and in 10 years, it will be wall-to-wall Starbucks, but for now, a walk through the village provides an interesting study in contrasts.
