Cofer Family Plot, Charleston, Ill., August 30, 2008

I've been meaning to get up to Charleston for several years now to see the Cofer plot. I tried in 2001, but got there too late in the day. This time, I got there and learned that the cemetery office is closed on Saturday, so I cruised real slowly up and down the lanes in my car with my eyes peeled for the name Cofer. Shockingly, I found it!

These would be my great-great grandparents, the original Thomas Noble Cofer.

I assume, this would be a great-great uncle

Another great-great uncle.

Great grandfather.

Great grandmother.

Grandpa's brother, “Uncle Louie,” is not buried with the others. He's a couple of sections down. I'm lucky I came across this. Is Arlene still alive?

What about Aunt Lee? Is she buried in Arizona?

Anyone know who this is?

I recall visiting a few family members living around Charleston when Grandma took Brett and me up there 25 years ago. Perhaps a Cofer cousin? She's buried alongside everyone else.
