Aloha! and Away We Go!

Today, we're off on a week long trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. As with every trip, we're always eager to try local foods. We're going to fill our tummies (and suitcases!) with great food adventures, but unfortunately, I can only post and share a few a day…

Lunch on the fly - Spinach Frittata and a Blueberry Muffin. I'm glad this airline still provides a complimentary meal!

We don't waste any time after getting off the plane in Kona. Driving to the other side of the island, we stop at Tex Drive-In for their famous malasadas (Portuguese donuts). Here, we sample guava, pineapple, apple, and custard filled pastries and understand why they're famous.

Our late dinner at Nori's (it would be midnight back at home!).
