We took a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park. Joshua Trees are pretty strange looking and remind me of something Dr. Seuss would create in one of his stories. I will post over several days (i.e. took a lot of pictures that day!)

There are lots of Joshua Trees on the north end of the park.

I think these are called bearded palms. This looked like a little family to me :)

Instructors getting ready to teach new climbers

We were too late for most of the Joshua Trees in bloom but happily there were a few blooming still.

And their blossoms can look like bunches of white grapes. These trees always make me think of Dr. Suess books.

Great set, Beth... you know, I seem to remember that Dr. Suess really DID model some of his stuff after these trees. Now I'm curious and must check on that again.

For a long time I have been fascinated by this park, and would love to visit it one day. I love these pictures of it - especially #7 - and look forward to your next postings,
