Victory Gardens

The Fenway Victory Gardens in Boston are one of the few remaining Victory Gardens left from WWII. They were started in 1942 and have grown and thrived since. They are part of the Emerald Necklace Park system, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, who also designed Central Park in NYC.

I live pretty close and we used to have a plot, but gave it up. And by we, I mean my wife. It's a beautiful spot for an evening stroll ; a quiet oasis in the middle of the city.

I don't really like taking photos of flowers. So, I took a few shots on my walk the other day of other aspects of the garden. And a few flowers get in there, too
