Budapest (Hungary) - 2015 - Budavári Palota

I know it was only one day ago when I said that Bruges is the most beautiful city in the world. I won't retract those words (let's call it regional chauvinism). But I have to admit that the only city in the world I ever fell in love with is the Hungarian capital Budapest. I visited the city for the first time in 2008 with some friends, went back in 2015, went back again in 2016 and had a hard time not visiting it again when I was travelling along the Danube in 2017 and around Lake Balaton in 2018. If the city were a little closer, I'm sure something like an exhibition in the Budavári palota, the castle towering above the Buda part of the city (which is composed of two older cities, Buda and Pest), would be enough reason to tour the city again for a few days.

Anyway, that love resulted in an amazing lot of photos. Too much, even when carefully selected, to put them all in one Photoblog-post. So, I'm gonna start a series about the 2015 visit, more or less split up by subject. Today, some "details" of the palace, about which you'll find a site in English here.

As always: I do not repost all my previous Flickr photos to Photoblog, but ... I have all my photos on another medium too: Pinterest. You'll find all my Budapest 2015-pictures here.

Thank you very much, George smile It is indeed a passion, it's an urge. Not having my camera with me when I see something beautiful - and there's so much beautiful things to see - is the saddest thing I know ...
