As Hulst (see previous post) is just across one border, Mariekerke is just across another one from where I live. An aqueous one, the river Scheldt. Crossing the river is easy if you're on bike or by foot (there's lots of little ferries in the region) and a little harder if you're motorised (one bridge is twenty kilometers from the next one - and even by car the ride takes you longer than crossing by bike on the ferry), but at least a few times a year it's worth it, even if you don't really like hiking or biking on the river banks. One of those times is the Visserijfeesten (fishing feasts) and that's where I made these photos in 2015.
