I'm really not a big fan of animals in cages. So, I rarely visit zoos. But Planckendael zoo (in Mechelen, Flanders) is an exception to the rule. It does, of course, have some animals in cages, but those cages are, in general, pretty big, and most of the animals live in the open (well, the "fenced" open of course, cause the only animals that apparently basically have the right to go wherever they want, are humans).
Anyway, enough philosphy, here's some photos. More will follow in the next two posts.
All of my Planckendael photos and my other fauna photos are here on Pinterest.
