Ordensburg Vogelsang (Germany) - 2017

by Björn Roose January. 08, 2019 450 views

We spent a few days in Germany between Christmas 2017 and New Year 2018. On one of those days I visited the Ordensburg Vogelsang, a former national socialist training venue, which was later converted to a military camp for the belgian occupying forces and is nowadays a museum and home for a number of organisation (amongst which can be found the Nationalpark Eifel, because the Ordensburg is in the middle of a natural reserve). It's a very cold and windy place to be in winter, but it's - as it was preserved nearly in its totality - certainly very impressive too.

All my Vogelsang photos are here on Pinterest.

Looks cold and sad.

It certainly was cold (you can't see the wind, but it's on a very high platform above the Rhine, so the temperatures are always lower than those in the surroundings). And, well, it's military, so not very cheerfull smile
