Tata (Hungary) - 2017

I tend to do quite a lot of planning before a holiday. Hence I mostly have a pretty good idea of what to expect when we visit a village or town.

In the case of Tata (Hungary) however I kind of underrated the points of interest. You'll see why, when you read the Wikipedia-article on the city. The city has some history, but apart from the Esterházy mansion and the castle nothing much is mentioned as still being there. And nothing of what is mentioned, is apparently worth a link.

When we entered the city the first signs we saw, pointed us towards Calvary Hill. I had read nothing about it, but we were happy we did follow the signs. It was the most impressive Calvary Hill we ever saw ...

And the castle on the shores of the lake was certainly worth the visit too. So in the end we spent over half a day in the city while I had expected to be out of there in an hour or so ...

You'll find all my Tata photos in my Magyarország/Hungary album on Pinterest.

Sometimes the no planning and "cruising around" are the best way to indulge one's curiosity. Love the colored captures.

I'm always trying a mix between planning and cruising. I plan a certain goal, but keep my eyes wide open while heading for that goal smile Thanks, Camellia.
