You may have noticed that I visit graveyards every now and then (here, here, here, here, and here). Whenever I see one in a foreign city and get the impression that it might be interesting - that means in a visual way - I take a stroll over it, and sometimes it's even on my to do list beforehand in a certain city or village. Honestly, sometimes my only goal in visiting a city is the graveyard.

If you happen to share a certain fascination for graveyards and happen to be in or around Antwerp(en), Flanders, be sure to visit the Schoonselhof. It is still used, but it has some very interesting historical graves and numerous poets, artists, politicians and other known people are burried there.

Here's a small selection of photos, you'll find all of my Schoonselhof photos in my Graveyards-album on Pinterest.

Very interesting and some beautiful moody stones here. I find graveyards to be comforting, intriguing. I have went to them on occasion just to stroll alone and for the peaceful atmosphere. Loved all of these and shall follow your Pinterest l!

I also like graveyards, so I found this post very interesting. You've succeeded in capturing the mood. So sad sometimes - photo #8.  Thanks for sharing
