Horst castle (Holsbeek, Flanders) - 2018

by Björn Roose January. 25, 2019 385 views

Although definitely worth a visit I would maybe never have visited the castle if it weren't for my love for comics and the cameo an ex-colleague had in that comic. De Rode Ridder (Red Knight in English) at a certain moment finds kind of a home in this castle (although he's a wandering knight) and that ex-colleague of mine appears in one of the albums where Horst castle is the central stage as one of the lords of the castle. So, I had to visit it sooner or later ...

You'll find all my Horst castle photos here on Pinterest.

The cellar will be a little bit wet and mouldy but the rest of the castle is just beautiful. wink
I like #1 because of angle, light and the two people, which can be used as a scale.

The tower might crack totally one day too, but it is undergoing restauration ... again. Thanks, Sigrid smile

I probably missed something.

Basically you never like what I post here, do you ? cry What your missing is the link going to Flickr (the original sized photos were there until Flickr decided to ask a ransom for just keeping there what was for free at first; that's the point where I moved to PhotoBlog and started removing my photos on Flickr). Thus you can only see the small versions on Pinterest now. When I start posting new stuff on Pinterest, that will not be a problem anymore smile

AHAHAHAH... noooo... well... Yes! smile
I only thought that, instead of 3 views of the same side, it was cool to show the entire castle! smile The back, with the water is cool. The courtyard is nice too...

So, basically, you have to pay the ransom on one side, and on the other side you found me.
You're not very lucky, my friend!

Try summer in that case. Then the terrace of the pub/restaurant is open (if it's not, the inside is packed) smile
