Not socks but sock. One, indeed. The kind in which Americans hope Santa Claus will put something, but destined to be filled not by this fat copy but by the original Saint Nicholas (Sinterklaas) and his helper Black Pete :-)
This particular sock goes back over fourty years and at least certain parts of the work - I think the "colouring" of the eyes - were done by me. I've always kept this as a souvenir ...
Ahhh very cool that you still have it. I accidentally threw away my husband's Christmas sock that he had kept since he was teeny tiny, in one of our moves ( went out with a box I think). To this day I feel really really bad. I have since replaced it but it's not the same 😔
I remember as yesterday the day I heard my parents had decided to give one of my oldest bears to their dog. I had long moved out of the house, but I was so angry when I heard about that and the fact that this animal had torn it apart ... Not the same thing as undeliberately losing it in a move, however. That's more in the "shit happens" category.
True but still every Christmas I get this feeling of "how the hell did I do this" and once in a while I go through the boxes of Christmas stuff hoping it will show up, ( deep down knowing it's a pipe dream).
Well, to the best of my knowledge old Saint Nick only stuffs things into red socks.

You must be saying that Santa Claus has "people". Well, I guess I understand. I have people. Anytime I face an unpleasant chore, I have my people do it. Of course, she often raises strong objections.
He actually has an army of 'undead', but let's say 'black pete' fits the christianised version of Odin a little better I will not take a stand on the employer-employee relationship in your personal life
