Zalakomár (Hungary/Magyarország) - natural reserve

by Björn Roose June. 04, 2019 305 views

Zalakomár is just a small village at the bottom left of Lake Balaton (Hungary of course), more specifically of a part of Lake Balaton that got cut off and is now a natural reserve. It is named after the Zala river running through it. We were not exactly heading for this place, but when we crossed the river I caught a glimpse of some birds, so we decided to make a little stop and try to "shoot" some of them.

At that moment I found out that my 55-300mm lens is pretty worthless for wildlife photography unless the wildlife is close enough to shit on your shoes. But there we were, so I had a go at it anyway ...

Wow, so many in one place. Yeah, that's a place were you have to go with min. 400mm, better 600mm and a tripod and a camouflage tent and ... and...and...smile
